Boost your energy during the busy holiday season
Sharing what's working for me! (creating new routines that serve you in a busy season of life...)
Hi!
November is here, and I’ve been working on incorporating some shifts into my daily routine as we transition into the colder months — and I am sharing them with you today.
If you're ready to say goodbye to feeling sluggish and looking for something to help lift your energy (without spiking your cortisol), keep reading.
So first let’s chat slow mornings. This has been a game-changer. The last thing you want to do is spike your cortisol first thing. Here’s what I suggest: no screens, sitting with either a warm glass of lemon water and green juice, reading or meditating, and getting that morning sunlight in your eyes. This is the trick for reducing seasonal affective disorder, getting better sleep, and making sure you are easing into your day. It sets your whole routine and mindset.
I’ve also shared a lot on social how coffee and I are no longer friends. I love coffee, but coffee doesn’t love me back. Maybe you feel the same?
Anytime I indulge in coffee these days I experience jittery, unfocused energy. Then there’s headaches, sleep disruptions. Then don’t forget about acid reflux, nausea, and overall funky digestion. Everything in my body – literally – was telling me I needed to stop drinking coffee.
But I do like starting my morning with a warm, comforting drink.
So usually after the above routine, I then dive into my day, 20-30 minutes later, with some caffeine, either matcha or this new fav, while starting my workday.
I love matcha, but sometimes I want a stronger, coffee-like flavor.
I discovered something perfect, and it’s a whole new level of good because of the amazing health benefits.
One of the reasons I was super sad to give up coffee was the ritual of making it in the morning. I loved my routine of preparing my coffee, it was such a nice way to ease into the day.
Pique’s Nandaka provides it’s own ritual. My first box came with a fancy little beaker and frother. You pour a sachet of Nandaka into the beaker, or your vessel of choice, add 10-12 oz of hot water, froth with the frother, or stir to mix. I add some nut milk, which makes it extra creamy and delicious.
Unlike when I used to make coffee, with Nandaka, I can’t help feeling like I’m preparing something healthy and medicinal that is actually adding something to my life, while nourishing my body and supporting my cognitive function.
Nandaka is an adaptogen-boosted coffee alternative blending pu’er black and green teas, adaptogenic mushrooms, and ceremonial-grade Peruvian cacao. It gives me gentle, steady energy. It has 82mg of slow-release caffeine per serving. I get a perfect but healthy boost throughout the day.
Here’s why I love it:
Adaptogenic Mushroom Blend: It’s packed with Chaga, Reishi, Cordyceps, and Lion’s Mane, which promote focus and energy without highs and lows.
Rich Flavor: The cacao gives it a chocolatey taste that comforts and nourishes your gut.
Supports Metabolism: The ceremonial cacao helps absorb nutrients and supports metabolism, keeping energy levels up.
Productivity boost: Whereas coffee only guaranteed me about two solid hours of frenetic energy, Nandaka provides steady, sustained energy that allows me to power through my day.
After just a few mornings of drinking Nandaka, I felt like a fog had been lifted.
As you head into the holiday season, Nandaka makes a thoughtful gift for anyone looking to embrace a healthy morning ritual.
